The 'Guardian Angels' Are Back to Patrol Crown Heights.

'The unarmed Guardian Angels started patrolling again in Crown Heights on Sunday after an increase in anti-Semitic attacks. "The cops have not been proactive at all," their leader Curtis Sliwa said about the NYPD.

The unarmed crime-prevention group Guardian Angels, who have fought crime in New York City since their founding in 1979, have resumed their patrol of Crown Heights following a series of anti-Semitic attacks.

Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa and his iconic red-clothed members were seen on Eastern Parkway on Sunday morning stating they will also be patrolling the Jewish neighborhoods of Williamsburg and Boro Park.

“These attacks are taking place and the cops have not been proactive at all,” Sliwa said about the violent attacks and verbal abuses Jewish people from all ages and backgrounds.

Sliwa, whose organization is a nonprofit group, also accused Mayor Bill de Blasio of inaction. “It comes from City Hall and the mayor. He’s been just apathetic,” he said about the mayor. . .

Sliwa also stated that local leaders of the Lubavitch Hasidic movement asked for his group’s help and he believes Guardian Angels patrols will halt the violence.

“We’re a visual deterrence in our red berets and our red satin jackets.” “Nobody’s going to commit an attack when we’re around and if they do commit an attack when we are around, we will physically restrain the persons responsible, make a citizen’s arrest and hold them until the police arrive.”

6. At one time, they trained "brother" organizations in several large cities as well.

Anyone who is criticizing them obviously doesn't know fuck all about them.

I got lost one time. I was visiting friends out of state, when I took a wrong turn off the highway. Got horribly lost. Late at night. In the wrong place. To complicate things, I also had car trouble. Not knowing I was in a bad neighborhood, I got out of the car to look for help, when I was approached by some rather unsavory people. Before I knew it, things started getting scary, and I don't panic easily. From across the street, five people in red berets and jackets called out, "Are you ok over there ?"

Suffice to say, I don't think I'd be here today if it weren't for those Guardian Angels that night.

So anyone who wants to slag them . . . you're gonna have to go through me. And I doubt that I'm alone saying that.
