Open Hatred. Donald Trump, with the assistance of Stephen Miller,

has helped racial and religious hatred thrive and prosper in the United States. This, to me, seems to be a deliberate effort. Beginning with Trump's hate-stimulating words against immigrants from Mexico and Central America and continuing with constant attacks on followers of Islam, the administration appears to be actively fomenting prejudice and violence.

His support for and from white supremacists is another element of this war on the "others." By extension, even antisemitism appears to be part of this effort. Misogyny, too, is ramping up openly and is tolerated and even encouraged by the Trump administration.

For me, that is one of the most toxic elements of the Trump presidency, and pointing this out clearly and bluntly is something that should be part of the 2020 Democratic Party presidential campaign. We must rid ourselves of a President who champions intolerance and violence against everyone who is not a white male.

...spreading hate like this. And both parties would have supported it. Not that long ago, either. Reagan, for all his dogwhistles, would have been ashamed to openly speak as Trump has. Nixon--the "good" Nixon--had decent instincts. There is nothing left of the GOP now but racism and hate. As long as this is true, it's hard to feel optimistic about our country...

He kept those things to himself, though, pretty much. I don't know what Reagan's views were on those things, and that's good. Both were probably misogynists, though. Even there, though, they didn't shout it out like Trump does.

Typical action reaction of a Narcissistic person when they are cornered. January 7 should be one interesting day. Understand the Town Hall meetings with the Congressional folks have been unfavorable to the Orange one.

and do the right thing. Will they? I don't know. It depends on what they're hearing during this recess from their own state's supporters. I hope I'll be surprised by what happens, but I'm not confident of that.

move to a Authoritarian Presidential posture since Nixon. We appear to be in their Wet Dream. My Gut feeling is,everything in the Senate dealing with Impeachment is going to be 50-50 with Pence breaking the Tie and thus giving the Senate Leadership a back door out.

That is the message this drives home. Nearly all of the hate is directed at people of color yet antisemitism has boiled to the surface in a big way. We need the government to report annually on hate crime category. Who it is against, the number of incidents by category - whether vandalism, physical attacks and type of and severity of the assault. Also, when known, the race and gender of the attacker. Right now all we can say is that it seems like these attacks are happening more often.
