Didn't people ever tire of him on the Apprentice?

Even if a person was indifferent about his policies and rhetoric (which I just don't get), he uses the same 12 words over and over and over again, and tweets the same basic nonsense each and every time.

Shouldn't people - even those not terribly into politics - be getting tired of listening to him whine? Shouldn't any normal person (i.e., someone not part of his cult) be sick of his childish name calling and his non-stop repetition of his crazy conspiracy theories?

I just don't get it.

In a long profile on Mark Burnett and Trump in The New Yorker published on Thursday, Jonathan Braun — an editor during the first six seasons of “The Apprentice” — revealed to the magazine that Trump would often decide, on a whim, which contestant to “fire” at the end of each episode. “The Apprentice” like most reality competition shows, featured a series of weekly challenges and Trump would decide who did the worst and eliminate that person from the competition.

But Braun explained that Trump was often unprepared and would seemingly decide at random who he felt should be eliminated.

That meant that, even if the “fired” contestant may have objectively had a good performance in the challenges, the editors had to go back and find ways to highlight how they may had messed up, Braun told the magazine.

This deceptive editing, which happens in many reality TV series as a way to amplify drama, extended past Trump’s decision on who to send home. Katherine Walker, a producer on the show, told the New Yorker that they often had to edit his speech to make him sound more coherent. “We cleaned it up so that he was his best self,” she said. “I’m sure Donald thinks that he was never edited.” She did admit that Trump’s personality made him perfect for reality TV, which often thrives on personalities who are unpredictable.

Twitter amplifies everything, causing the media (including DU) to endlessly promote every keyboard click. Trump has sucked the oxygen out of the media. Climate change? Greenland losing billions of tons of ice? Another mass shooting? Dead children in concentration camps? Oh, never mind. We have another "outrageous" and/or "controversial" tweet to write about!

Then, LOL!! Did you see the latest SNL "funny skit" about trump? HAHAHAHAHA Oh, it's so funny!!111!!!1 I can't stop laughing!!11!! Everything is so funny!!111!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA

By the way, did you see that funny person at the vet taking their empty carrier back to their car? They were crying!!!11!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Please kill me.

In fact, any tv show with "reality" in the title gets a complete miss from me. The trailers are enough.

I knew Trump from the acute observations of his New York contemporary: Garry Trudeau.
