Watch a kid make the most of some very bad weather!

Here in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, we got some freezing rain that froze immediately on roads and sidewalks. For most people, that meant car accidents and falls. For the kid in this tweet, it meant an opportunity for some fun.

2. :) I guess you must be old when you see that and the

concern for staying safely indoors outweighs the wish to join her on the "savage" sidewalks. Our grandchildren would all be out there in a shot.

4. Well, I grew up in Southern California, so skating on ice

wasn't a thing for me. I did live on roller skates for a couple of summers though when I was 9 or 10 years old.

But, indeed, yes, I am too old for such things now. More's the pity!

A lot of kids in Minnesota live on skates in the winter. Today, the whole world was a rink. Now, though, it's raining and above freezing, so the opportunity has passed.

6. This happened in Illinois when I was a kid.

We were able to play hockey in the street. Way cool.

The best skating came one day it was so cold, a creek froze.
