"Sesame Street," Sally Field, Earth, Wind & Fire, and conductor Michael Tilson Thomas were all celebrated for their lifetime contributions to the performing arts at the 42nd annual Kennedy Center Honors. The event was held earlier this month in Washington and aired on CBS last night. CBS News White House correspondent Paula Reid was on the red carpet, and joined CBSN from Washington with all the highlights.

P.S. My daughter is thrilled with the idea of a Spain trip. Tentative date: last week and a half in Oct. into early Nov. She is so excited about the idea of Madrid and Barcelona!

6. A GREAT trip!

Our/my first trip to Europe was in 1957, along with Sputnik, as there was a travel industry convention in MADRID (and Dad, who owned a small travel agency, in the BRONX, decided the family should make a trip of it!)

We did travel industry tours to cities/towns in England, France, Spain, Switzerland and Italy. I was in 5th grade, and my brother was a little kid!!!

I remember the Prado!!!

and maybe in 2019 although they didn’t show her on teevee. 2018 was incredible with Adam Lambert singing Believe.

9. We watched it last night on CBS

Dotard, fortunately, doesn't attend but I did see some of his evil minions in the boxes. As well as our wonderful Speaker.

It was a great show. Used to be shown on 12/26 every year. This year, for some reason, it aired on 12/15. We just caught up with it last night via CBS All Access.
