Robert Reich on Tavis Smiley. He also said that for a country with the wealth of the US, our rising (even existing) poverty is a travesty (didn't use that word, but that was the meaning).
I always enjoy listening to Reich, even when what he says makes one very uncomfortable - smart fellow, and seems to be someone who cares deeply. This episode is well worth watching.

and others spoke of the travesty of American poverty, or acknowledged the underclass ever.

Acorn worked in the poorest of neighborhoods and they went after them pretty hard. Now we have voter ID laws which disproportionately affect the poor.
