Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) said she was “disturbed” that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) would engage in “total coordination” with the White House regarding the upcoming Senate trial of President Trump, NBC News reports.

She added that McConnell’s comments “has further confused” the impeachment process.

2. I understand your cynicism (I really do)

but this is sort of promising IMHO- as it shows a slight *crack* in the dam- in terms of Republican messaging about how the Senate trial will be conducted and it could put some pressure on McConnell to back off his crazy vow to coordinate with Trump's legal team on the impeachment. I know that Collins is a "headline-grabber" with her reputation as a "moderate" at stake, but is Murkowski the same way?

so yeah, I can see reasons for optimism.

But Trumpism has enhanced my inner cynic pretty badly.

In her case I suspend cynical judgement. She may, in truth, actually be disturbed. We will see if this leads to anything
