Christmas Day 2019

I'm spending Christmas by myself this year. I lost my SO, Rick, suddenly last April and I just didn't feel much like celebrating. I thought I'd be lonely, but, surprisingly, I'm okay. I spent a semi-quiet morning with the cats, yelling at Otis when he jumped on my BioOrb aquarium with the 24-hour intelligent light, resetting it in the process. I hate it when he does that, lol. Now I'll have to set it again tomorrow morning. Sammy and Rosie are napping, but Bad Boy Otis is insisting on getting into everything. Take a nap, buddy! I'm making dinner for myself a little later--baked lobster tail, baked potato & roasted asparagus. The cats will dine on canned tuna, their favorite treat. I ordered a couple of things I've been wanting and will open them a little later, too.

I'm celebrating Christmas on the 28th with my goddaughter and her 4 kids age 5, 8, 19, & 23 at my place so that'll be fun. Christmas is for kids and I love seeing how excited they get. I'm making lasagna, salad, garlic bread and chocolate silk pie for dessert. Nice, light fare.

Well, I hope that everybody is having a good day, either with loved ones or alone. I have to go yell at Otis again--he's about to jump on the aquarium again.

Love to all!

But I'm sorry for your loss last Spring. I'm by myself, too, and it's fine. I've been yelling at one of the cats when he tries to knock my router off the table because he wants me to feed him again. Maybe I'll give them some tuna later. Christmas is overrated unless you're a kid, so it really shouldn't matter how it's celebrated as long as you're OK with whatever you're doing.

I'm going solo this year too and enjoying it. I have to go outside to visit the resident cat but I'll get snuggles anyway. I've talked to my family already and now settling in to act like I have nothing to do all day. I'll bake up some goodies and have a nice little feast of a game hen from my friend's farm and morel laden stuffing, gravy and baked yams, cranberry relish and a spinach salad. Chocolate chip ice cream for desert. I didn't want to have too many dishes afterward.

Sounds like you and your furry family members will have a good day together, enjoy the lobster! I wish I was having that!

It snowed a bit last night and it’s perfect fireplace weather.

I haven’t done Christmas for 25 years.

My cat’s name is King Tut. He’s a tabby with the long mascara markings like, well, King Tut!
