...Rudy has exposed a truth that is ugly, vile, and disgusting. That the Republican Party is deeply associated with anti-Jewish attitudes. Just as important, you need to know, that this will get around to Jewish people everywhere. Those Jewish people who voted Republican before, will never ever vote Republican again. Yes, an apology will come from some Republicans, perhaps even Rudy, but that will be meaningless. Rudy like Trump cannot keep his mouth shut.
...In another post, Rudy has doubled down, and will NOT apologize. (see post #4 below)
Rudy said, "I am more of a Jew than Holocaust survivor George Soros."

(6,855 posts)Jewish trump voters are as much a part of the cult as anyone else. They do not consider leftist Jews as real Jews, much like evangelicals vs other Christians.

(38,434 posts)in the end, Trump & Rudy will lose most, if not all Jewish votes.
... Jewish voters are Jewish before they are Trumpers....This will become obvious after some time. I know people will not believe this, but yes, this will make it's way throughout the entire Jewish community. There is plenty of time before the election in next November. And it will be known and accepted because of Rudy's utter stupidity and drunkenness.
...Also note: No apology yet. Christmas morning 11:24 ET. When the apology comes, and it will be forthcoming, that apology will look stupid.

(38,434 posts)A link below saying he will not apologize. So, Rudy & Trump have stood by this awful, stupid comment. They have no idea of how much it is going to hurt the Republican Party. And it will

(59,504 posts)He did get many Orthodox Jewish votes - as have other Republicans. Here is a table that shows that - https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jewish-voting-record-in-u-s-presidential-elections Note that ROMNEY got 30% to Trump's 24% of the Jewish vote. Also note that the table reflects all Jews.
Non Orthodox Judaism is currently at the point that discussing Israel in synagogues is a difficult topic. Something that never would have been said in the 60s, 70s or 80s! In addition, few are one issue voters - with policy on Israel the issue. On almost all value issues, the Democratic position is far closer to values of Non orthodox Jews.
In addition, many fear that an Israel that abandons the idea of two states implicitly abandons the idea of a democratic and Jewish majority state. From many younger American Jews I know they would if forced to choose between a democratic state with equal rights for all and a Jewish majority might agree that the former is closer to their values. For decades American statesmen have spoken of the small window to achieve a two state solution. It may be that facts on the ground (settlements and complete lack of trust between the sides) have already made that unlikely, but the Trump actions have made it even less likely. The vision of a 2 state solution has been a veil that allows many to ignore the conflict between liberal Democratic values and the desire for Israel to be a Jewish state.
Trump will not lose right wing/ Orthodox voters - who likely will not agree with Guiliani being even remotely Jewish - as their is absolutely no way that he is unless his Catholic mother was. However, some may agree with the politics associated with Bibi. (Note others are still in disagreement with there even being a Jewish state before the Messiah comes and establishes it. (Look up the Satmar wing of Hasidim)

(22,133 posts)all except old (70+) white men (not all of course), neo Nazi, white supremacists, racists, anti-jewish attitudes, bigots, etc., you get the grist...the rest of us don't matter.
Again, this reflects the fear of losing power. Have you ever had an argument w/ an old white guy, a neighbor, relative, etc., and it seems like it's like talking to a wall? Well, you are!
Again proving how incapable they are in governing.
If they do govern, their success is determined by how much they can take from the people's government, not by how much they can give the people.
I wish rudi g would cover himself up w/ a paper sack. I get tired of seeing his ugly old mug (and the teeth, oh god, the teeth!)...
