Do THEY know it’s Christmas, the thousands of migrant children locked in cages, never knowing if they’ll see their own parents again? Do they know that the people who support their imprisonment are showering their own children with treats and toys, while other children sleep on concrete floors?

Do THEY know it’s Christmas, the poor who are spending their holidays in fear that their food stamps will be cut off, while the people who want to end this assistance are busy partying, and stuffing themselves with lavish meals?

Do THEY know it’s Christmas, the sick who can’t afford to fill their prescriptions, while the politicians who were elected to represent them are drinking toasts to their own good health thanks to taxpayer-funded healthcare?

Do THEY know it’s Christmas, the millions of Americans who are working two or more jobs just to make ends meet, while their oblivious representatives celebrate the “booming economy”?

Do THEY know it’s Christmas, the homeless who hope to survive yet another winter on the streets, while politicians gather around warming, decoration-laden fireplaces to discuss ways to make being homeless a criminal act?

Do THEY know it’s Christmas, the Kurds and the Ukrainian people, whose very survival is dependent on our word that we would support them, and now know that our word isn’t good for anything?

Do THEY know it’s Christmas, the Americans languishing in prison for non-violent, drug-related crimes, while they watch as a corrupt “pResident” breaks the law, defies the Constitution, and as his Republican enablers cover for [I[his crimes rather than hold him accountable?

Do THEY know it’s Christmas, the hundreds of millions of US citizens who traditionally ushered in every New Year with hopes of better times ahead, who now feel hopeless as a political party continues to enable and embolden an “IMpResident” who doesn’t care about them, their country – or anyone other than himself?

Do THEY know it’s Christmas, the Dreamers who fear deportation to countries where they are strangers, while Trump-supporting law-makers find ways to oust them from the only country they’ve ever known?

Do THEY know it’s Christmas, the patriots who have devoted their lives to service to their country and have now been labelled as lying partisan hacks because they had the courage to testify under oath to the truth?

Do any of us know it’s Christmas as the season of “Peace on Earth and goodwill towards all men” is transformed into a celebration of an “IMpResident” who has waged war on the truth, the facts, and the rule of law?

Do WE know it’s Christmas when, according to the GOP, the immigrant Baby Jesus should be taken from his parents and locked in a cage? Do WE know it’s Christmas when our fellow citizens are left to die due to sickness, the lack of shelter from the elements, the ‘crimes’ of being poor or without the resources to pay for medicines that could prolong their lives and/or alleviate their suffering?

Do WE know it’s Christmas when there is a political party willing to turn the concept of “peace on earth” into a war on those who hold our nation’s principles above the unprincipled actions of its “IMpResident”?

Does ANYONE know it’s Christmas when “goodwill towards all men” becomes goodwill only towards those willing to submit to a man who holds no goodwill towards anyone other than himself?

The celebration of the birth of the Christ child has been turned into a celebration of everything that saviour child grew up to stand against. When “feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, care for the sick” becomes “starve the hungry, criminalize homelessness, and find ways to deny healthcare to the sick” by alleged Christians, the Christ child’s message has not only been ignored – it has been openly betrayed.

2. This Should Be Splashed Over All the Media

This burning Human Rights violation issue should be splashed all over the media. It is way more important than the wine cave or the horse race for president. This is a moral stain on our country that must be removed!!!!

3. Thank you. When I read this, I realized I've gone days without thinking

of those children, those crimes against humanity. The loneliness and pain of those little kids as Christmas comes and they don't even know where their families are.

I will find a way to remember each day. All of us must. And I will step up my contacts with my US rep and senators.

On a related note, I wonder how many people, even people on here aren't thinking about the forever wars. Our kids are over there fighting. Dying. Being injured.

It is a troubling remembrance at any time of the year, but most especially now.

5. The media bemoans the firing of Boeing's CEO three days before Christmas.

Without mentioning that he may have 39mil in severance stuffed in that stocking.

But he and Boeing are newsworthy, unlike the imprisoned, the homeless, the sick, the abandoned, the ignored and forgotten.

how a supporter of the IMPOTUS can view that story and not get it.
