Woman faces another attempted murder charge in Iowa in second intentional hit-and-run, police say

DES MOINES, Iowa —

Police said Monday that the woman charged with intentionally hitting a 14-year-old in Iowa hit another child with her vehicle on the same day.

The Des Moines Police Department said 42-year-old Nicole Marie Poole, of Des Moines, faces another charge of attempted murder.

According to police, Poole allegedly struck a 12-year-old boy with her SUV on Dec. 9 — the same day that Poole allegedly struck 14-year-old Natalia Miranda.

Witnesses to the crash told police that the vehicle accelerated prior to the crash, drove onto the sidewalk and hit the boy.

Police said the boy suffered minor injuries in the crash.
