He endorsed the APPROACH.....which is a balanced approach of spending cuts AND tax increases.

The Republicans want all spending cuts, especially to programs like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security and no defense cuts either.

And the G.O.P. is just bat-shit crazy.

We have a MIGHTY NEED for a tea-party-like movement for liberals. Personally, I would call us "New Deal Democrats". But the first priority of such a movement would have to be to do no harm to overall Democratic prospects at the polls.

Change must come from within the Democratic Party. Third parties are counter-productive under our system, and the Republican Party is a lost cause.
