(from email blast, 12.20.19)
Yesterday, our team and supporters went back to court to fight the use it or lose it purge of 120,000 voters.
Court is adjourned, and theres no decision yet, but heres the exciting part: Even before the hearing started, we were already winning.
Approximately 26,500 Georgians more than 1 in 5 "use it or lose it" voters were already restored to the rolls due to our advocacy, organizing and legal briefing on the issues with their purge!
We will see what the court orders in the coming weeks, but we already are winning important victories for voters.
Georgia is a battleground state and the epicenter of the fight for free and fair elections.
But this problem doesnt just exist here.
In fact, the right to vote is under attack right now across the country, and in the absence of federal protections its up to advocacy groups like ours to fight back against these attempts to suppress the vote.

(9,090 posts)for a long time, endorsed by these universities who use their majority black athletes to support racist global warming-denying RW talk radio
GEORGIA 14 $1,050,000 Georgia 7, Georgia Tech 5, Georgia Southern 2
fairfight should be protesting these universities - it will get media, the cons will freak out, advertisers will head for the hills - and without those radio stations the republicans are screwed in GA - and that will free/force those politicians to dump trump

(25,982 posts)We were all robbed of a representative who would have served our state well. Georgia is very red in places, but not as many as it seems and overall not as red as people think. Good for Stacey Abrams for fighting to push back against voter suppression in GA and the rest of the country. Even though she was cheated of the governor's office, she still insists on working for the people. She's the real deal.
Thank you for posting this, diva77!

(798 posts)here as well. How can a system with no paper trail ever be trusted? I don't trust it; and I am certain election results would be much different with paper ballots.
