Richard Nixon was the only president in U.S. history to resign from office — doing so on Aug. 9, 1974, amid the Watergate scandal — but he was not, as is often stated, impeached by the House of Representatives.

Nixon realized that if he was impeached he’d also be convicted, and upon conviction he would become ineligible for the benefits a former president receives. But if he resigned, he would keep his bennies...so he resigned.

Until the Senate votes him out, the House can keep pushing through additional impeachment movements.

Moscow Mitch- how many impeachments do you want to have beside your name? You are defending him, and blowing up your own party.

Therefore, he took a Democrat as his running mate.

He should have picked a different Democrat. He really disliked Johnson.

They are talking about how it is rare as if the only two deserved it. But it is the other way around.
