(34,661 posts)his staff knows these calls are coming in bucket loads,they will just switch everything over to the answering machine. E-mails will go unanswered like most do when it comes to anything threatening his chance of reelection.

(146,329 posts)He's barely a Democrat at all, and is attempting to appease the voters in his district, which went +7 for Trump. If he runs again in 2020, which I doubt, he is certain to lose. Democrats won't vote for him, and the Republicans who have voted for him in the past will have a prominent Republican to vote for in 2020.
Rep. Peterson is done in the House. He's old enough to retire, so that is what he will do. His vote against impeachment will probably assure him of some financial support later. But, his career in Congress ends this year, I guarantee.
