'You can say Merry Christmas again': Lara and Eric Trump declare victory in the War on Christmas

This is sickening...

https://www.rawstory.com/2019/12/you-can-say-merry-christmas-again-lara-and-eric-trump-declare-victory-in-the-war-on-christmas/

For years, conservatives have complained about a “War on Christmas” — but President Donald Trump finally won the war, according to his son and daughter-in-law.

Fox News personality Jeanine Pirro interviewed Eric Trump and his wife Lara in Trump Tower, which Pirro called the “New York White House.”

Pirro told the two they had “done wonderful things for the country” and said Trump had ended political correctness and people could say “Merry Christmas.”

“You can say Merry Christmas again,” Lara Trump said. “Isn’t that so nice, Jeanine?”

“It’s incredible,” Eric Trump said. “It is nice to say Merry Christmas again.”

Nothing like declaring victory in a war that never happened against an opponent that doesn't exist when no person or company has actually declared any sort of change in policy to make it any more or less tenable to say Merry Christmas.

I'd love for them to point to one example of something that has changed.

if declaring victory in the "war on christmas" means I don't have to hear this stupid ass bullshit brought up every year for the rest of my life, then I am more than happy to let them have their victory, and if anyone ever brings it up again I'll just refer them to this video and say "NOPE! war is over and you won! Can't complain about this anymore!!!"

brought up every year for the rest of your life. So many Christians are just determined to feel persecuted, even if they have to make shit up to do it. Furthermore, if you object when they complain, they'll probably whine that you're persecuting them by doing that. Bet on it.

They manufacture a phony crisis and claim to solve said phony crisis claiming victory for Trump. It is so stupid and pathetic that only a Trumper could fall for it.

If you've never had to deal with a hateful Christian in a self-righteous rage, snarling "Merry CHRIST!!!mas!" at you because they were so offended to hear the word "holiday" in December, you're very fortunate. They aren't too common, these loons, but they surely do exist. I have relatives who brag about doing this. Good on that employer for preventing that kind of harassment in the workplace.

Trump could give a shit whether you say Merry Christmas or not. He knows this is a faux battle he can win. The religious Right doesn't just want people to say Merry Christmas; they want everyone to say it. They want every person to be forced to say it, actually. In their fearful world, anyone not a Christian is a threat, and the easiest way to identify non-believers is this simple test.

The more Democrats who are able to say “Merry Christmas! Peace on earth, good will to all people! What a lovely holiday!” the better.

Not instead of, but along with “Happy Hanukkah! Happy Solstice! Isn’t it wonderful that we have lights and food and charity and family to get us through these cold, dark days?”

That phony war translates, of course, into a xenophobic jab at the plurality and diversity of this country. So, if you could win a war that doesn't exist, basically they are celebrating discrimination and a lack of respect, that's all.

Hey, why not turn your chosen holiday into a battle ground because you pretend it is not okay to say WORDS that you think are the correct ones for he season, even though there are other religions and beliefs? You talk about a projection of bigotry and insecurity, and dare I say, hatred?

Now, after that being said, say: "Merry Christmas", or is that "Fuck Your Holiday"?

So, Lara and Eric, you won a delusion and a prejudice! Celebrate with all the money you have by questionable means in the Trump Tower of Infamy. I hear ol' Satan is getting envious and you make Santa nauseous.

Happy Holidays!!!!!
BTW: the etymology of the word, holidays reveals that it comes from holy days, (Old English haligdæg). So, what's the big deal here? Happy Holy Days?
