I absolutely love it that Nancy Pelosi referred to her Catholicism last week.

The right wing talking point is that she can't be catholic and support abortion. Wake up, you assholes! Nancy is catholic and she supports women's rights, unlike the current occupant of the white house.

Catholicism. First, it was the basis for her ethics and principles; IOW, she wasn't grandstanding for political posturing. Second, it was in contrast to the current meme that only evangelical Protestant Christians have the exclusive message on right-and-wrong and therefore, are "in charge" of the rest of us. Finally, I appreciated her indignation as far as she wasn't going to be denigrated because she is a woman, a Democrat, and a Catholic.

And for the record, oppressing the poor and denying a working man his wages are numbered as "Sins that cry to Heaven for Vengeance".

Technically, you can't be a Democrat or Republican and be Catholic under current party platforms

willful murder and sodomy. They sure love to talk about two like they're dire, but not that other one.

The Magisterium is clear on these points. The Republicans twist everything.
