Help! I am in dire straits!

I am 78 years old and disabled. Most of the year I can handle living on my social security but the winter months are terribly difficult with the extra cost of heating. I am behind now on my electric bill and the company is threatening to turn off my electric power in a few days.. My propane tank is almost empty and it s very cold in New Mexico this time of the year through March. I am in desperate need of help. Your help would enable me to be able to cook my meals and keep me warm.

I have set up a GoFundMe account:

Also, most cities/communities have a Senior Services Agency/Outreach. Check your community for one. Contact your state and federal representatives and find out what programs you may be eligible for low income seniors. Google "Meals on Wheels" for the contact in your area. Hope this helps get you started.

If not, tell them immediately. In many states, it is ILLEGAL to turn off the power of some one who is disabled.

I can provide a link to the provider that offers the same Federally-subsidized services here in NM if I know WHERE in NM the poster is located.

Although that is no longer part of their profile.

And their favorite forum is still "Minnesota."

So that's what confuzzled me.

I rarely transpose NM and MN. I was born and raised in MN, and now I live and work in NM.

Probably not a big deal in any case.

I could certainly point them to the LIHEAP provider for their NM county, but they haven't responded with that information.

nonplusedly,
Bright
