After his own inspector general report debunked the so-called “deep state” conspiracy theories pushed by Donald Trump, attorney general William Barr has been running a public relations campaign to convince the American people that the IG’s findings are all wrong.

Not only is Barr trashing his own IG report, but he’s also using his PR blitz to send a threatening message to FBI officials who investigate foreign election interference.

“He did a whole TV blitz to basically say that his own agency, the FBI, was spying on the Trump campaign, something that the inspector general said did not happen,” MSNBC’s Joy Reid said on Saturday.

Reid said that the attorney general’s media campaign is also sending a message to FBI agents that “if you go ahead and investigate foreign interference in our election, William Barr may come after you.”
