THIS just opened near my home, and

I have to pass it almost every day. As I go by, I fight the pull to go in there, fearing that my answer to "May I help you?" will be "No thanks. I just wanted to see what asshole opened this shop."

A MAGA hat. A Trump sweatshirt. Pop-up Trump stores are not just business opportunities, they’re signs that Democrats have something to worry about

customers in there? I'm surprised it's in Mass! I wouldn't think that would be a big market.

As blue as Massachusetts and Rhode Island are, I've been finding large pockets of adamant Chump supporters who are almost militaristic in their social media and activities. Some of their rhetoric is pretty unsettling.

Hopefully it won't pick up much before the election, but I'm not counting on it. More and more Trumpies are becoming vocal around here, and their numbers are a concern to me.

Lately I've been feeling a sense of doom regarding political 2020. It's a very real possibility that Chump could be re-elected, and I don't know how I'd survive that outcome.

I just don't know how this can be happening. How can there be so many stupid, hateful, evil, ignorant people in this country who can't see Trump and the republicans for what they are? And what they are doing to this country? I honestly don't think we can take another four years. At this point, I am counting on divine intervention.

In the six years I have lived in this city in Louisiana, I have seen exactly one Ted Cruz yard sign, one guy wearing a q-anon t-shirt, and one guy riding a motorcycle flying a confederate flag that was actually bigger than the motorcycle. That's it. I have never seen a trump sign, but I might have seen a confederate flag here and there but just didn't register. When I read about all the stories here on Democratic Underground, I'm kind of at a loss for words at the lack of right wing propaganda here. When I say I live in a Louisiana city , it's not New Orleans or Baton Rouge. Go figure, right?

the Trump cultists. You can see them outside political rallies, too, hawking whatever stuff they think will sell to both sides. They aren't "red" or "blue", just interested in green.

Handle fear by committing to being the good citizen they aren't. Keep that true as we bring our nation through this.

(Imo, though, it's entirely okay to hope the owner's deep in the hole by the time he goes out of business, because he will. I'm already in with that. )

That's a fucking quote from the article.

Do they mean "diverse" as in you can marry your sister or cousin in both states?

There are a lot of people who don't have a good grasp of the English language, including, unfortunately, many who write for a living.

I spent an afternoon explaining to a young coworker that duplicative and duplicitous have different meanings. Still don't know if he believed me.
