Perhaps we will have enough justice left in all America to do the job. Jury is still out on that one. We shall see.

Excerpt...
Matt Gaetz has been a vocal supporter of the tea partys agenda, crusading against the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid expansion in a state with 2.6 million uninsured residents. But Gaetz wouldnt be where he is today without government health care programs. In the late 1970s, his father co-founded a nonprofit hospice company that successfully lobbied Congress to allow Medicare and Medicaid to cover its services. Once the public money started flowing, the nonprofit became a for-profit corporation, Vitas, that grew into the countrys largest hospice care provider.
In 2004, Don Gaetz and his partners cashed in, selling the hospice company to the parent company of the plumbing behemoth Roto-Rooter for $400 million. When he ran for state Senate two years later, Don had a net worth of $25 million. In 2013, the Justice Department sued Vitas, alleging that between 2002 and 2013, the company had defrauded Medicare by filing false claims for services never provided or for patients who werent terminally ill. The company settled the case in 2017 for more than $75 million, at the time the largest settlement ever recovered from a hospice company. (Don wasnt named in the case and has denied any wrongdoing.)

(83,785 posts)Hospice of all things. End of life care and they profited. My mom is on hospice for the last 4 months now, my sister and I are the sole caregivers. We could not survive without the extra care. We could no longer get her to appointments. She could not make it to the car anymore. We went with a walker, a wheelchair and a 25 pound oxygen tank. She could not do it and neither could we. The men and women that come here are wonderful caring people.
The last 5 years, they were here for my father and brother in law. Gaetz and his family can go to hell.

Hospice has helped our immediate family four times over the last decade. Their service, support and acts of kindness bring love when families most need it.
Gaetz, like modern pols, gamed the laws to his own advantage turning what was intended as a public good into personal gain. That is heartless.
