AOC gearing up for more challenges of Democrats

Chris,

Just months ago, the official campaign arm of House Democrats (the DCCC) announced that they would blacklist anyone who worked on a primary challenger’s campaign. That’s made it much harder for progressive challengers to get the resources, staff, and tools they need to win.

It’s clear that we need our own support system on the progressive side of the party. That’s why we’ve worked so hard to raise nearly $300,000 for progressive candidates and causes this cycle. But we need to do a lot more, and in order to do so we need to grow this movement.

Can you chip in now to help our campaign invest in growth? More resources means we can support more progressive candidates in 2020.

If you've stored your info with ActBlue Express, we'll process your contribution instantly:

The DCCC is enforcing their anti-incumbent rules by requiring a “loyalty” pledge from the partners they work with. But what is that loyalty to? The values of the Democratic Party? Absolutely not.

It is only loyalty to incumbents — full stop. The DCCC has stamped down on progressive challengers while embracing partners and candidates that openly work with pro-gun, anti-choice, or corporate-friendly groups.

We cannot allow the DCCC to slam the door on candidates who challenge the status quo. That’s why we’re building the biggest possible support system for progressive candidates in 2020.

A waste of money based on the OR and JD endorsements in 2018.....

progressive Democrat Marie Newman is finding it difficult to hire people for her campaign because of this policy that is essentially a "protect the incumbent against any challenge" policy. She is running against an anti-choice, self described problem solver who, incidentally, opposed the ACA.

In Democratic primaries where republicans crossed over rather than vote for their nazi candidate in the primary

A perfect example why Democrats should determine their nominees, and why open primaries work against tthat

And Illinois has had open primaries since before AOC was born.

Newman lost in Chicago because Lipinski has the name recognition he received from his father, who essentially gifted the seat to him.

and voted for him

In California, the respective political parties decide if they want open primaries in their party

Democrats allow it, Republicans don’t

This was passed through a proposition around 2011

I also said people LIKE Ocasio-Cortez-Cortez have pushed for this for quite a while
justiice Democrats are proponents of it

and like California, Illinois is a blue state

The ones who pushed for this are the more progressive wings of the party

If it was a closed primary she would have won the primary easily

Supporting primaries against DINO’s helps maintain true Democratic values, not sow chaos and disruption like Tulsi.

Endangering proven Dem seats, especially campaigning against them, at this time when we need to keep control of the house because someone doesn't fit another's ideology is nonsense. And what is this with calling out Dems with insulting words? At this time if one wants to complain about other reps. call out the Cons. AOC needs to concentrate on her own seat as she has some interesting challengers. And who made her hall monitor anyway? As for proof, her words are such.

when people used to say this is exactly what primaries are for. The line was always, "oh i get that you're upset with this vote or that vote, this position or that, but you have to always support the democrat in the general and primaries are when we can pick someone we like better."

Now the position is, "you'll get who we say you get and you're a traitor to the party if you dare suggest otherwise." It's a pretty sad evolution and not something I ever thought liberals would go along with, but apparently I was wrong.

Voters in those districts have built relationships with their incumbent officials and they view the JD candidates as being funded by outside interests. I'll save my money to contribute to the incumbents when they run against Republicans in the general election.

Terrible strategic moves by OR and JD against those who don't meet their purity tests.
