My AMAZING daughter did it again! Invited to South Africa!

Some of you may recall that she had been tapped to attend the Intensive Law & trial program this summer at Stanford... She did end up going, and had an amazing experience. Not only did she get to participate in a mock trial in SF Superior Court, but she made friends and also learned a LOT about what big universities are like... the endless walking, hot dorms, bad food lol

Well she got more than that...She earned college credits, achieved an award for being the Best Witness (out of 100 kids) and was tapped to be inducted into out local college chapter of the Honor Society for Leadership & Success.

Now she is invited to attend a special 10-day program in South Africa with the Scholar Laureate Delegation for International Relations & Diplomacy!
Here's the local news article!

The program will take these students to meet with actual political leaders to discuss equality and learn about the challenges of a new democracy. This is really interesting for her since she believes that ALL those who seek public office should experience how other countries govern.

She is applying for a scholarship through the program, and is also eligible through the Honor Society at the college. And again, we are fundraising to get the rest of the costs covered. The trip itself is actually comparable to the cost of the Stanford program, but the passport and plane ticket will be a little more. Before anyone decided to tell me this is stupid or "for profit" ...I know, there are tons of these programs that do foreign trips, and many of them are costly as well...but the experience and the continued opportunities for honor roll, etc are invaluable IMO
She is stoked and really looking forward to the option for travel and learning...

Please feel free to share the link and see if we can get this girl closer to her dreams!

...that she is literally 17, graduated a YEAR early...(turns 18 next month)

and most of the kids being invited to this are juniors in college, so she's running ahead of her time

She's now learning "Africans" the second most used language.

She hopes to be able to speak well enough to have conversations with locals🥰

This girl never ceases to amaze me!!!
