The gunman who opened fire inside a classroom at the U.S. Naval Air Station Pensacola on Friday morning, killing three people and injuring seven others, was a member of the Saudi Air Force who was at the Florida base for training, officials said.

The suspect—who has not been publicly identified by authorities—was shot and killed by a deputy during the attack at the Florida Panhandle facility, which is known as the “cradle of aviation,” the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

Multiple news outlets identified the shooter as Second Lt. Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani. Authorities are investigating whether the incident was related to terrorism, and the FBI has taken over the investigation into the shooting, according to a spokeswoman for the Bureau.

“The government of Saudi Arabia needs to make things better for these victims, and I think they’re going to owe a debt here given that this is one of their individuals,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said at a press conference.

Diya (Islam)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diya_(Islam)

Diya (Arabic: دية?; plural diyāt, Arabic: ديات? in Islamic law, is the financial compensation paid to the victim or heirs of a victim in the cases of murder, bodily harm or property damage. It is an alternative punishment to qisas (equal retaliation). In Arabic, the word means both blood money and ransom, and it is spelled sometimes as diyah or diyeh.[citation needed]

It only applies when victim's family want to compromise with the guilty party; otherwise qisas applies.

Diya compensation rates have historically varied based on the gender and religion of the victim.[1][2][3] In the modern era, diya plays a role in the legal system of Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.[4] In Iran and Pakistan, the diya is the same for Muslims and non-Muslims,[5][6][7] while in Saudi Arabia it differs depending on the religion of the victim.[3]

Doing this would "eliminate" the need for an investigation.

Dump wants to sell all those beautiful, beautiful American-made weapons systems. F-15 and F-16 flight training happen in the good old USA. We wouldn't want them to buy *gasp* Eurofighters, would we?
