Now, I am not one usually for quoting the religious....But this chap has a point ...

"He who is not angry when there is just cause for anger is immoral. Why? Because anger looks to the good of justice. And if you can live amid injustice without anger, you are immoral as well as unjust." St. Thomas Aquinas

Not only are the righties not cross, they are gleeful at the injustices bearing down on the vulnerable. Immoral, unjust, unrighteous indeed.

We need wrath when we are living through this period of history that is overwhelming in its right wing machination and cruelty, and I am very cross indeed.

I, especially lately dealing with pain issues, find myself without the patience to be gentle and have become more of a bomb thrower, figuratively of course. Wrath - that is a good way to express it.

would ideally, be 'intentional' anger. that is 'conscious' anger.

Not anger as an automatic reaction.

Because most evangelicals think the others are the immoral.

Those outside a Religion are seen as unsaved, sinners, in need of redemption, unreformed or controlled by Satan. Though modern Liberal Christians accept the "good and holy" in other religions there is always the need to shoe horn the World to their dogma.

Atheopaganism is a view, I think many here hold: A neopagan movement with rituals that emphasize the natural world and a firm set of ethics and principles, but which does not believe in gods, the divine or the supernatural.

theologian and philosopher, considered a saint in the Catholic Church (who might do well to heed his words today in dealing with pedophile priests).

He was not addressing anyone today in real time. But he was speaking timeless words across the ages in establishing a moral principle.

But you are right that RWers believe that they are the moral ones. Hard to understand how they can believe it is moral to support a sexual assaulting president, taking food from the needy, denying care for the sick, taking children from parents to put in prison camps, etc. Very warped notion of morality.

when they see it in lefties, they point the finger and say "That's bad!"

Fuck 'em.

Moral people SHOULD be angry, as Aquinas said. To be not angry is to be apathetic or in favor of the injustice; and to be apathetic is to be unengaged in the world, which is a sin, and to be in favor of injustice is a sin because it is against God's vision.
