According to the Post (about 2 hours ago) Nunes has denied traveling to Vienna as reported . Does anyone have access to the article? I'm curious about what Nunes said.

(1,546 posts)The top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee said reports that he met with ex-Ukrainian prosecutor general Viktor Shokin in Vienna last year were false, but declined to elaborate in an interview on Fox News.
The allegation that Rep. Devin Nunes (Calif.) met with Shokin to obtain information about former vice president Joe Biden and his son was made by the attorney for Lev Parnas. Parnas is one of two Soviet-born associates of Rudolph W. Giuliani who were indicted on charges that they broke campaign finance law.
Parnass attorney, Joseph Bondy, told The Washington Post that Shokin informed Parnas that he had met with Nunes in Vienna in December 2018.
On Fox News, Nunes declined to answer further questions about the accusation, which he previously dismissed as demonstrably false and scandalous in an interview with the conservative outlet Breitbart News. A person close to Shokin also has denied the claim.

(58,785 posts)... Parnass attorney, Joseph Bondy, told The Washington Post that Ukraines former top prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, informed Parnas that he had met with Nunes in Vienna in December 2018. ... ... ...
Bondys allegation about Nunes and Shokin appears to be part of an aggressive campaign he has mounted in recent days to persuade Democrats in Congress to call Parnas to testify. He has been tweeting directly at members of Congress, using the hashtag #LetLevSpeak. He has said Parnas would be willing to testify, provided he was given an accommodation to allow him to avoid self-incrimination. That would likely require Congress giving him immunity for his testimony.
A spokesman for Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam B. Schiff (D-Calif.) declined to comment on whether Parnas would be asked to testify or on the Nunes allegation. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) did not respond to requests for comment.
If the House launched an ethics investigation into Nunes it would be the second time his ethics were questioned during the Trump era. In 2017, Nunes was accused of giving classified information to the White House about the Intelligence Committees work on Russian interference in the 2016 election.

(118,330 posts)... The exchange began with a direct question from Bartiromo: Bottom line, were you in Vienna with Shokin? Nunes then jumped into a monologue:
I really want to answer all of these questions, and I promise you I absolutely will come back on the show and answer these questions, but because there is criminal activity here, were working with the appropriate law enforcement agencies, were going to file all this, everyone is going to know the truth, everybody is going to know all the facts, but I think you can understand that I cant compete by trying to debate this out with the public media when 90 percent of the media are totally corrupt. And because this is criminal in nature and because its so bad, its so slanderous, weve got all the facts on our side, and were going to file in federal court because Im not going to sit here and try to compete against the media that I have no chance of winning this. I will win in court in, and theyll have a chance to cooperate, and theyll have to show how they work with somebody who has been indicted, which is likely conspiring to obstruct justice.
When Bartiromo asked whether he was saying that CNN committed criminal activity Nunes said its very likely. Or theyre an accessory to it, right? The Republican lawmaker added that he is the last guy that wants to go into the courts but he has no choice because the media has become totally corrupt that now theyre willing to actually engage and help with criminals, indicted criminals. Despite Nunes tough words, it isnt clear exactly what he would sue for. As Axios notes, a defamation lawsuit would require him to show the news outlet acted with actual malice and a reckless disregard for the truth. But it really just reported statements from Parnas attorney ...
