Let's blue-sky think. Is there any path for removing Trump judge appointees if 2016 election is ...

....proven rigged?

What would it take for executive orders and appointments to be nullified assuming Dems were to take over WH and Congress in 2020?

They could be impeached if they persue corruption or other unethical behavior, but otherwise... We are stuck

... that would hence forward allow a remedy for a rigged presidential election? A change in the confirmation processes, perhaps?

This is ONE of the newly-found problems where founding fathers did not anticipate malevolent actors subverting the Constitution.

I know of a lot of other things we need to address in that manner as well. Impractical, but it could be done. It still wouldn't be retroactive, though.

Let's see if ERA finally goes through with VA pushing it. That would be one important constituional element as a start.

I hate that we lose ground with every Republican President and in some States. We only need one more state to ratify it. Virginia.

But proponents never stopped fighting for it. Nevada ratified the amendment in 2017 and Illinois in 2018, leaving it just one state shy of becoming the law of the land.

The ones that are stupid enough to do something impeachable should be nailed for it. I wish rank incompetence was impeachable.

They could be removed via impeachment and conviction, but the judges would have had to do something themselves that would bring about an impeachment. Having been appointed in the wake of a rigged election is insufficient.

IANAL.

At the very least, we do have a judicial code of ethical conduct that could at least come in to play if there is any misbehavior by any of these appointees.

Otherwise, unfortunately we are stuck!

Time to institute the same code of ethics for SCOTUS.

Not when Comey, Coates, Mueller, Wray have all told us UNDER OATH that the election is being rigged "as we sit here".

All it takes is for several states vote totals to be botched (a simple task, electronically) and then referred to SCOTUS for resolution.

Voila. Trump wins. Despite popular vote. Despite interference.

We know it's rigged, already.

Only fools and idiots would hope for a fair election.

Trump stole one election as a private citizen and has that much more incentive to steal another using the power of the presidency. He views himself as a king whose family is entitled to rule over us forever - he won't leave office peacefully, even Michael Cohen has said this.

The GOP are riding along, seeing the power they can have, and are enabling his evil along with their own brand of evil they've pushed for a generation.

Moscow Mitch stole Obama's SCOTUS appointment then bragged about it. Then pushed through Gorsuch, then the Kavanaugh fiasco. They are waiting for RBG to die to stuff in another young RW hack.

As you stated, only naive fools (and unfortunately, there are many on our side) believe that 2020 will save us. We have a duty to fight now, which is why the impeachment proceedings, even if ultimately don't remove Trump, are important. We can't make the mistake of playing 'prevent defense' thinking 2020 is in our favor, only to see Trump dance in the endzone like he did in 2016.

The appointments are for life. They cannot be removed except for impeachment and 2/3rd vote in the Senate is still needed to actually remove them. Simply gaining a majority in the Senate isn't enough. We'd need gop senators to go along with it.

The executive orders can be rescinded by the President or by a law passed by Congress. Those are relatively easy to get rid of.

When we finally hoik these banana slugs out of the executive and legislative branches, a firm but politely worded request for resignations needs to go out to the most recent members of the judiciary, with a reminder that they are being closely scrutinized.
