Trump's senate defense will be to put Biden on trial.

What is the best way for Dems to handle this? I posted my worry about this several weeks ago. NOT that I think there are any legitimate worries. Just the optics.

With the latest phase of the House impeachment inquiry having concluded on Thursday, the country appears headed for a full impeachment vote in the House of Representatives followed by immediate proceedings in the Senate. Be prepared, though, for a trial not just of President Donald Trump, but of Joe and Hunter Biden as well.

I'm so sick and tired of it. The only way to stop it is to get rid of them. Vote them out.

is to fail to impeach in the House. Yes, this genie is already somewhat out of the bottle, but which is less satisfying, a House vote that allows Democratic reps from swung-red-to-blue districts to vote against impeachment, thus saving them from charges of "playing politics" in their 2020 re-election races, or seeing the Senate vote to exonerate Trump, while destroying Joe Biden in the process?

Months ago, I've said that the focus should be on the election, and not impeachment. Fast forward to this past week, and we're spending more time talking about the testimony of people who 70% of Americans will have forgotten by the end of the holidays than we are about the debate that took place on Wednesday.

The Repukes have gotten us to shift our focus off of the only thing that can truly rid the White House of Trump.

These hearings have done a great deal of damage. If we can get testimony that Nunes was involved that would be even better. Pelosi could pull together the House and review all the evidence and then say because the Senate Republicans of indicated that they will never hold the president accountable, we will not proceed with the impeachment.

It puts Republicans in an interesting position. And keeps them from being able to put Joe Biden on trial.

I thought I'd get a lot of push-back on that. I have seen over the last many months the belief that if we can only show the Republicons just HOW corrupt their Dear Leader is, that they will lose faith in him, and his power will evaporate.

If the last two weeks have left them mostly unmoved, then nothing will.

But they don't have the courage to do that. The Senate trial will be a circus. Why give them that opportunity? Nancy Pelosi should say. "I call on President Trump to make the honorable decision to resign. But we all know that this president has never--and probably will never be--honorable."

Does he have any power in this trial? Biden bullshit is so off-track. Hope it's stopped.

They have already publicly stated they will make the whistleblower and Adam Schiff testify about their coordination and contact before the report was originally. It’s gonna be a mess for sure.

What will Roberts do, how will he handle a conspiracy theory defense?
