(10,721 posts)And as right wingers get more desperate (in the face of social progress, demographic change, increased secularization, etc.), the lying becomes more extreme. They don't have a choice. They must lie to survive. If they told the truth, virtually nobody would vote Republican. The GOP would cease to be a viable political party.
Republicans are assisted by an overabundance of distractions, a stunningly ignorant public, an irresponsible profit-driven media that gives equal time to lies and obfuscation, and a tyranny of the minority political system.
