if this was a real trial with a jury, the prosecution could rest.

(1,096 posts)And also, can you imagine the degree of restraint it must have taken in order to keep the proceedings orderly and dignified in spite of republican antics? A lesser chairman may have responded to the nonsense in a way that would only have encouraged more of the same. I thought several times - this man must have some experience dealing with toddlers.

(13,873 posts)Im sure Nunes has a bad feeling when he is summing up knowing 1) that Schiff is going to get the last word, and 2) that Schiff can actually improvise and add in a nasty rebuttal to whatever nonsense Nunes has just delivered.

(7,637 posts)Interesting fact about his work as ADA. He has been dealing with russian goons all his life.
From 1987 to 1993, he was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Office of the United States Attorney for the Central District of California. While in this position, Schiff came to public attention when he prosecuted the case against Richard Miller, a former FBI agent who was convicted of "passing secret documents to the Soviet Union in exchange for a promised $65,000 in gold and cash".[5] The first trial resulted in a hung jury; the second trial resulted in a conviction that was overturned on appeal.[6] Miller was convicted in a third trial.[7]

(342 posts)He has expertly summarized this whole thing in plain language that the average person can understand. If it is ever said that the hearing confused the public....then we sure have a lot of stupid people in this country.

(4,292 posts)He very skillfully handled attacks from members of the minority party. If Id been in his place, Id have used the gavel to try to pound sense into the whiners from across the aisle.
Or a sledgehammer.
His attackers are beneath contempt. Not to mention desperate. And despicable (thanks, Siri, for suggesting that adjective while I was typing).
I just wish my Representative had 1/10 the spine the Honorable Mr. Schiff has! (But Im working on it).

Adam has masterfully wrapped up the proceedings every day.
Nunes is outclassed and hopeless.
Time to cheat again, huh?
