I don't know if any of you felt as I did last week--after watching the Republican convention. I told my husband that I had "an RNC hangover" on Friday morning.
It was true. I felt sad, disgusted and bewildered by what I had heard and watched. So much anger. So much fear mongering. So much vitriol. It was a week of name calling, bullying and lies.
It literally made me sick to my stomach.
I'm so glad that I am watching our Democratic convention. I almost didn't because I felt as if I had seen enough politics last week. I'm so glad that I tuned in. This is what a convention should be like. The is how politicians should speak-- with hope, honesty and joy.
It is such a relief to hear politicians talk about government helping others leverage opportunity. To hear our party pay tribute to our troops, kids in poor communities and those less fortunate--gives me hope.
I seriously do not know how modern-day Republicans deal with the heartless, soul-crushing, angry tone of their party leaders. I experienced it for only a few days last week--and I felt sick.
I hope some of those Republicans will tune into our convention tonight and see for themselves that there is hope, positivity, compassion, wisdom and a sense of family and community in our party.
I'm really looking forward to the rest of our convention! This is TRULY what America is all about!!!

I don't think there have ever been such jarring differences between the Democratic and Republican parties. It's jarring.
Our convention has been uplifting and classy. So great to see such a diverse delegation too!

Can the Republicans actually say that they were proud of tgeir convention??? Most of the post-analysis was Republican apologies for Eastwood and defensiveness about all of the lies they were forced to explain.

We need to hear more from him. He was so inspiring and uplifting!
