(15,649 posts)We have the party of no laws when it meets our ends to contend with. Only the public will influence them not proof, evidence, law or reason. The Ukraine bribery was not unusual, not inappropriate and not an impeachable act according to their universe so far in these hearings. They will deny truth and the facts until the public demands otherwise. And the M$M isnt helping with this so far imo.

(25,473 posts)Plenty of people disapproved of him in 2016 and still voted for him.
There's little reason to believe the same won't happen in 2020, but preferably in significantly smaller numbers this time, especially in swing states.

(58,785 posts)Not just Trump. He's an explosive symptom of what's been happening for a long time.
All the big state and national leaders have become intensely corrupt and determined to overset the ability of the people to take their power. Most seem to be vastly underestimating the depth of their betrayal and just how far along it is. That's what nice people do when faced with something so bad they can't believe it.

(86,764 posts)According to The Great Bear astrology and the Kosmic Calendar:
Mercury makes the key cosmic headline by halting its three-week reversal and making a direct station at 12 degrees of Scorpio (11:15am). Putting you on the defensive are a square between Ceres and Chiron (6:18am), a tense, 135-degree link between Mars and Neptune (9:58am), plus the monthly polarity between the Moon in Virgo and Neptune in Pisces (8:52pm). This trio of celestial naysayers battle against a revelation-generating grand triangle composed of the Moon trine to Uranus in Taurus (12:13am) and Saturn in Capricorn (10:44pm). Focus attention on the following themes associated with the Messenger of the Gods planet to stay above the fray communications, learning and primary education, words and language, transportation and travel plans, business and trade, messages and paper work, health and medical concerns, the five senses, air and breathing, wind and temperature changes. Since Mercury, like every celestial body, has a shadow side, dont let down your guard concerning signings and agreements as Mercury is fundamentally motionless all of today and can influence earth dwellers positively or negatively. (Mercury will remain in direct motion until it begins a new retrograde cycle in Pisces on February 16, 2020.) [Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Standard Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]
MontanaMama
(23,336 posts)That sums it up nicely.
2naSalit
(86,764 posts)With Saturn and Neptune active...
Saturn, in this case, represents time-keeping in the cosmic sense, like karma. Neptune is the subconscious state which seems to mean, here, that soul-searching and truth-seeking is a theme for a day or two. With Mercury in this flux state, all inner personal things and communications are at the fore. What a perfect day for this! More events in the next few days are also significant, we can win this bigly.

(58,785 posts)of what people already know but so far don't believe is bad enough to remove him for. We need more, and hopefully we're still in the beginning of a cascade of shockers that'll convince McConnell his own power can only be saved by dumping Trump. And keeping Pence, though I pray it ruins him also.
Sorry to be a downer, but I'm afraid post-impeachment the most powerful man on the planet will be convinced of his invincibility, terrified, and raging and vengeful all at once. Best to be prepared in case.

(10,252 posts)He won't resign. The senate will probably not convict him, unless Moscow Mitch determines that his leadership and/or re-election is in jeopardy. Which leaves Trump losing the general election, assuming he gets the nomination, which is not certain.
Trump lives in a constant state of denial, lies, and delusions of grandeur. He probably tells himself that he will survive senate conviction and be re-elected. But 35% of voters ain't enough to get re-elected.
I just hope that after his defeat that the next administration and/or the state of NY indicts him for some serious crimes. His tax returns will beb public by then. So obstruction of justice, tax fraud, bank fraud, wire fraud, insurance fraud will be what he faces. He'll have to sell off some of his properties, because the Russians ain't gonna fund him anymore. They will discard him as the piece of trash he is.
