So, a thought that's lately been rattling around in my cerebral cavity.......

Suppose, for the sake of argument, that the Senate votes to convict Shitgibbon. At the moment, that CJ Roberts announces the vote, and declares that "Donald J. tRump is hereby convicted and removed form the office of the Presidency," Mike Pence at that moment needs to be sitting with a federal judge and a bible in hand, getting ready to take the oath of office. Amirite? They can do some kind of formal swearing-in ceremony a little later.

Ah, the things I have to think about on a Saturday afternoon when I can't get out of the house, and don't want to do anything IN the house...............I was kinda harkening back to the nostalgic days of National Lampoon's "The Missing White House Tapes," with the Impeachment Day parade, and the formal "swearing out" ceremony of Richard Nixon......hilarious stuff!

As President of the Senate, he'd likely be there anyway and Roberts would swear him in. hlthe2b Nov 2019 #1

The President's successor becomes President the moment the current occupant's term ends.
