For those who haven't been watching ...

… this season’s runaway hit TV show, ”Impeachment Inquiry”, you are missing out on the most exciting programming we've seen in decades.

See Jim “Jacketoff” Jordan whine incessantly about the Dems’ refusal to produce the whistle-blower – while Trump refuses to allow a single person with firsthand knowledge to testify, along with directing that any documents relevant to the inquiry not be produced.

Watch Devin (& his Magic Cow) Nunes ramble incoherently about conspiracy theories including, but not restricted to, how the Obama administration covered-up the Martian invasion of Grover’s Mill, New Jersey, on October 30, 1938.

Be sure to catch Elise Stefanik as she performs under some bizarre delusion that being perpetually pissed-off is going to advance her political career. Chances are she sees herself as the GOP version of fellow NY rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez – having forgotten that AOC has intelligence, a quick wit, and a complete grasp of the facts she speaks about – qualities Stefanik is totally bereft of.

Despite being dubbed “boring and lacking pizzazz”, the proceedings occasionally offer some truly laughable moments, like the “pResident” tweeting smears against Masha Yovanovitch – while she is testifying about, among other things, how a smear campaign was used to remove her from her post!

You’ll laugh! You’ll cry! You’ll be amazed at how low Republicans are willing to sink in order to protect a lying, corrupt, pussy-grabber – and how ineffectively their efforts have proven to be, especially when their own “pResident” keeps fucking them over with every statement and every tweet.

But wait, there’s more! If you like the ”Impeachment Inquiry”, you’ll LOVE the post program analysis shows – unofficially known collectively as “The Talking Brain-Dead” – where Republican spokes-whores stutter-and-sputter as they try to recall which talking points are still viable, and which have been rendered unusable in the last twenty-four hours – often by the “pResident” himself.

Watch in awe as Trump-humping ass-kissers squirm in their seats as they insist that there’s nuthin’ to see here, folks – when the whole world IS seeing exactly what’s going on with their own eyes, and hearing it with their own ears.

For the truly dedicated, you’ll want to check out the on-line contests where you can cast your vote for who the “pResident” will next describe as someone he hardly knows, which career civil servant with impeccable credentials he will declare is a low-level bureaucrat with no credibility – and who is next to be thrown under the bus!

Despite the seriousness of impeaching a “pResident”, you can’t deny that there is an entertainment factor to all of it – particularly the fact that the GOP’s best defence of their Dear Leader is to offer NO defence whatsoever.

Ironically, the real stars of ”Impeachment Inquiry” are the people who, at Trump’s direction, have yet to show up on set. Perhaps that's due to having to keep ever-changing stories straight, staying on-message when the message is different today than it was yesterday - or simply the impossible task of defending the indefensible,

Yesterday the pundits said there wasn't enough "pizzaz". Well, we brought the pizzaz today now didn't we? From Chairman Schiff's cutting off the GOP grandstanding to the standing ovation at the end. The Dems brought it!

There was better pizzaz than a reality show.

You are the lady! You have surpassed Hunter Thompson and Molly Ivins in my book.

I hope you have your pen ready, the U.S. in the next thirteen months is about to see something never seen before, and I truly believe it is going to get much much uglier.......

Thanks for all you do to keep our spirits up with intellectual commentary on what we are witnessing.

The historians are going to be busy for the next hundred years talking about the past three years, and what we undoubtedly will see this next year and maybe even after that!!!!

All my friend are telling me "to get a life", but I just cant tear myself away from the TV. The twists and turns (mostly from the Republicans) are awesome.

The latest news I heard today is that Igor and his friend, who are possibly Ukrainian mafia, are now upset by what Trump is doing and saying. Do nt be surprised if they end up playing a cameo role in this smash hit series.

How ever this show ends, it wont end well for Trump.

Her district voted for a democrat for President SIX straight times, breaking that only to vote for Trump by a wide margin (delta of around 20%). Historically it has sent democrats to the House (except for a total of 16 years in close to 100 years) before Stefanik won her seat.

What happened? Why has she been able to stay elected since 2014, including defeating the woman who is running against her in 2020 in the 2018 race? What happened?

Her district is heavily non college degreed people. That group went heavily for Trump in 2016 and likely keep her in office. Was there de-industrialization of that region that has turned it into what it is now?

And while I know I'm missing some prime visuals, the audio also makes for an exciting program!

I haven't caught every moment, but the ones I've heard are certainly as you described.

I've been enthralled, amazed, impressed and unimpressed at various points, and have laughed and smiled a bit too, not to mention shaking my head in disbelief or amazement.

And reading recaps and spins on the proceedings has been entertaining too.
Can't wait for the next episode!

Before I get to that, great post.

They are moving the goalposts like they are doing it in front of the cameras on ESPN's College Game Day.

The conspiracy theories Nunes (amongst others) are publicly airing are lore and dogma to the dashboard believers. This stuff is as true to them as stories we heard as kids about George Washington. They hear it every day nonstop. I listen in to talk radio and I would highly suggest that those with ANYTHING better to do try an experiment- listen to the first 15 minutes of a Hannity radio show. Get a pen and paper ready because you will hear inside "jokes" and references that are (not mind blowing) dizzying.

We tend to be political junkies but you will have a hard time trying to figure out what the hell he's even talking about. After one day you will notice a repeat of some major arching story lines but still other things will pop up. Take your notes and start on the google machine. Their world is a truly strange one. After three days you will get into the rhythm of what they hear all the time, for decades. At the end of one week you will begin to understand this new language. Things you forgot about, mostly because they were absurd, are still constant with them. Their failures are victories and they always are under attack at the same time. Trust me, as brutal as it will be the first few days you will come out feeling freer than you ever have and never look at people you pass by in the same way. They are out there, a lot of them......WAAAY out there.
