I am pondering the possibility of no longer donating maoney directly to candidates to focus on the underlying infrastructure that supports the entire ticket. Here is my likely list:
- Swing Left
- Run for Something
- Wisconsin Democratic Party (We stop Trump cold if we win here)
- National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC)
- Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC)
- Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC)
What is your 2020 strategy?

(54,436 posts)Since Jay Inslee dropped out of the presidential race, it might be a while before I decide to seriously contribute to one of the candidates still standing. No Senator who publicly urged Al Franken to resign will get a cent from me except if they become the party nominee on their own.
The DNC will get a contribution as long as I still have even token input in there (getting Rev. Barber on the speaking roster at the convention is token--they do not consult with me on policy! LOL!!).

(25,515 posts)Just donated to Annie's List (a Texas based group) the other night.
I've been donating to Julian Castro. (Mainly so he can stay on the debate stage...He only lives about 7 miles from me, so I guess you could say he's local!)

(16,646 posts)they're pretty much just an "incumbent protection committee". I'm not sure how committed they are to any other goal.

(59,158 posts)And helped to flip 5 seats. Theyre doing the same in Texas now. But yes, they have a lot of vulnerable incumbents to protect in 2020.

(22,270 posts)Also Democratic Grass Roots CLubs and organizations. Support their fundraisers. Join the groups so they can benefit from your dues (usually very reasonable)

sign up with https://postcardstovoters.org/ You will be notified when postcards are needed to help GOTV in elections. The focus is on special elections and runoffs. For example, I just received 10 mailing addresses for Louisiana voters (Democrats) to remind them to get out for the runoff for governor in 10 days and elect Gov John Bell Edwards
Frankly, I do not donate to NDRC, DLCC, DCCC because I do not know what they will do with my $$. I much prefer to donate to my local candidates who will also get my vote. From state House to US Senate their representation is the most direct. I'd rather give a roll of stamps to a postcard campaign,
