And is not a biblical position. Jesus taught that children of god were to fight against injustices of the world. Not stand back and do nothing.

1. Religious persecution (of Christians)- which is as "real" as voter fraud in this country.
2. Being required to cover (and in some cases, just FILL) birth control for women
3. School policies and/or laws that aim to prevent and eliminate bullying- because they might, you know, prevent a *good* straight god-fearing child from bullying/harming a fellow GLBT child.
4. Boycotts/Criticism of a Christian food establishment because of the anti-GLBT positions of its corporate owner.
5. People not giving Christmas "due respect" by telling somebody "happy holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" (aka "War on Christmas&quot
6. Tolerance & respect for other religions
7. "Tolerance" in general- don't want to give people the impression it's "o.k." for somebody to be GLBT.
8. Same-sex marriage and parenting
9. Allowing women and families to make decisions about their reproductive lives.

There is no religious persecution of Christians in the U.S.. Sense this post is about Paul Ryan who is a member of the Roman Catholic Church being a descendant of anabaptist I am familiar with their persecution of other Christians by Roman Catholics. Not to vilify all Catholics, because I have many friends, and relatives who are Catholics. Drowning because my ancestors rejected infant baptism.Tortured being burned at the stake, having their places of worship being burned to the ground. Being sentenced as Galley slaves as punishment for their religious believes, and being exiled from their Countries. And this lasted for centuries. This is what lead to me being born an American. Which is why I believe in separation of church and state.

There is nothing in the bible about birth control. The war on Christmas is also phony. I have never met a progressive to attack Christmas. And if there is a war on Christmas it's not coming from liberals, but other right wing fundamentalist preachers. Christianity is not suppose to be dogmatized. So yes they should have tolerance for other religions.

As far a the reproductive rights of women. "I am a christian and I have no problem with abortion, and here is why Genesis 2 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."There it is you don't have a soul until you breath. Abortion is not murder. Nor does the bible condemn any such medical procedure. Right wingers would have you believe the main reason for the destruction of Sodom, and Gomorrah were destroyed, because of homosexuality. Yet this is what the bible says. Ezekiel 16:49 "Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.' Notice how homosexuality was omitted from that list. As for chick-fil-a. I have never ate their in my life, and never will.

This philosophy is Pre-Renaissance; out of which grew the thought processes which incubated the democratic ideals our government is built upon.

Wish somebody would point this out to Ryan in person. I'd like to hear him try to wriggle out of that one.

The notion is part of the famous passage of the DoI: "Men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights".

Remember this was over 80 years before The Origin of Species was published, almost everyone (excepting a few visionaries like de Buffon and Goethe) was a Creationist then.

Did God give women and minorities the right to vote? Did God pass, sign, and implement the Civil Rights Act? Will GLBT persons know if or when God will give them equal rights in all 50 states???

When a liberal says that rights come from God, they say, no, they come from the Government.

When a liberal says that rights come from the Government, they say, no, they come from God.

The point isn't to be right, the point is to just continually oppose.
