Impeachment Strategy

Forget Thanksgiving.

Forget Christmas.

As Speaker Pelosi has said several times, there is no time limit. Her intent is to protect our country and protect our Constitution. The political calendar cannot dictate when or how a president is impeached.

This is a wise move on her part, in my opinion.

First of all, impeachment is a "political" process. It is not a criminal trial. Democrats are armed with facts and evidence, but unfortunately, that is not enough.

Republicans understand that if they acquit Donald Trump in the Senate, they still have about a year to go before the next Administration. In Trump time, that can be a very long time. Anything can happen at anytime. It could do great damage to their Party, and to them personally. They know that.

Democrats understand that Trump is a charlatan. He is a pathological liar. He is crude, unstable, paranoid, and deeply incompetent. He either does not understand the Constitution or the laws of this country or he has no respect for either? He has been in bed with the Russians. For some reason, he appears to be compromised by them? He has betrayed the laws of this country. He is a national security threat. Need we say more?

This impeachment process is probably the first time that Trump has been seriously challenged by another Branch of the Government, since he stepped into the White House? He does not want to be impeached.

If patience is a virtue, then this is the time to use it. So long as evidence is being gathered, the process should continue. They cannot possibly shut down the process and then vote on the Articles of Impeachment at this moment? After they hear from John Bolton, there may be a couple of other people that need to answer some questions? There really is no need to hurry.

With the threat of impeachment over his head, one might think that Donald Trump would pay close adherence to the laws and appearances of criminality? That might not be necessarily so?

Nancy is the only Sheriff in town, at this time. No Republicans have stepped forward to help her in protecting our laws and our Constitution. It would be a good time for patriots to step forward.

If we lose our laws and our Constitution, we will have lost everything.

Just my opinion.

He'll do absolutely anything he wants to do. It's bad enough now, but I fear it could get much worse. What would he have to lose?

they will lose the senate and he will lose the presidency.
If nothing else, the impeachment will open many eyes and ears to his crimes.

The GOPee faces a completely different equation in the general election. Knees will go wobbly.

Also, the closer we get to the general election, the fresher all the crimes will be in voters' minds.

McConnel will never hold a trial and if he does, it will be a sham trial done in 2 days. GOP controls the rules for anything that happens in the Senate with a simple 51% vote as long as it doesn't pertain to budget and spending.

ZERO upside for any trial in the Senate. McConnel will take the Merrick Garland position and say Nov 2020 election is the impeachment trial and I'll run with that as nothing will bring voters out in record numbers than this action by GOP

McConnell can set the rules in Trump's favor but he doesn't run the trial once it starts.

I think Pelosi knows that the crimes that are about to be discussed publicly before the entire country do not begin and end with that phone call, that phone call was just the end of it all, the call was where Trump without a doubt implicated himself, but these crimes started this Spring and will include the whole lot of this cabal. Jared, Don Jr, Ivanka, Rudy, Perry, Pompeo etc they all committed serious crimes around this extortion and that is what is about to be shown to the American people.

But there should be no problem finding other crimes. He has a lot of them just laying around.

They were demanding Trump donors get spots on the boards of Ukrainian energy companies, they were demanding to be able to steer energy contracts, and they were demanding all kinds of concessions to Putin.

And where I truly believe this leads to is that Ukraine is just normal business for Trump, I think it's obvious this is how Trump operated across the globe, not a single deal could be made if it didn't personally enrich Trump, his family, or his donors.

Whomever dies with the most toys, wins!

Money is money. It doesn't make any difference in how you get it. Laws are just minor nuisances.

He did it yesterday with his illegal criminal payoff scheme for Senate Repugs. That should be added to the Articles of Impeachment.
