Um, can someone more knowledgeable regarding Antivaxxer Woo tell me who he is, and what anti-Maher DU OP I can expect to see Friday night 10 minutes in to the show?

(33,345 posts)That's the "free plug" spot. he must have a new book that Maher wants the panel to address.
Maher will engage with Conservatives regularly. He's not endorsing them by debating them.

I agree Maher probably wants to talk about No Safe Spaces, but based on the time between books, I'm not sure how much detail that book can have.

(33,345 posts)Maher's 1st show was called Politically Incorrect. He was fired for a 9/11 comment IIRC.
Sometimes, I agree with Maher on this issue of policing campus speech, non-gendered pronouns, etc., minute differentiations of identity ( "Gray Asexuals" ) but I'm also very aware that the RW is trying to goad these kids, as well - bringing literal Fascism to otherwise Liberal campuses under the guise of the 1st Amendment.
Just ask Josh Dukes.

(2,495 posts)Maher had on Milo Yiannopoulos to basically have a bromance session with. Or Jordan freakin' Peterson so he could tell his audience that he was someone everyone should listen to.

(118,659 posts)they both had articles and stories on them in the week(s) and months later. Do you ever hear of either of them anymore?

(2,495 posts)It was eleven dimensional chess. He wasn't really slobbering over people with horribly regressive politics he was exposing them.
Milo fell out of favor because he suggested pedophilia was maybe not so bad. It had nothing to do with Bill Maher. It was dug up by conservatives who knew he was coming to speak at CPAC.
Jordan Peterson is in rehab and was being written about long before he went on Maher. That's who took him down. People exposing his lack of knowledge on the subjects he speaks about and his bigoted social darwinist views. Not Bill Maher telling everyone how great he is. He does still have a lucrative speaking career even now (once he gets out of rehab). He's part of the "Intellectual Dark Web", famously valorized by Real Time frequent guest Bari Weiss.

(118,659 posts)nutters to the left. Peterson showed himself to be a weak lightweight where politics are concerned on Overtime. Milo was destroyed rightfully a week later for what you said. Maher compared him favourably to the late Christopher Hitchens when he was on Real Time. You are right about that.
