(7,947 posts)He is (I think) a current deputy secy of state, and he was asked if he got disinformation package (I assume this is the one sent by Giuiliani on photoshopped WH stationery?) to discredit Yovanovitch (then amb to Ukraine). He said he got it, asked who sent it, did not get an answer, and referred it to the inspector general.
John Sullivan is his name. He is VERY nervous. I understand-- here he is, at the point of a great career achievement, and he is being asked about what he obviously feels is a shameful task he had to take in service to the shameless Trump.

The diplomat acknowledged that he was the one who informed Foreign Service veteran Marie Yovanovitch that she was being pulled out early from her post as the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine. But he said that despite trying to find out why, he was never given any reason other than Trump had lost confidence in her.... Sullivan said he was aware of the smear campaign and believed that Rudy Giuliani, Trumps personal lawyer, was involved.
