NEWS: Schumer is sending a letter to the Sec. of the Army and the Chief of Staff of the Army asking that Lt. Col. Vindman is afforded the same protections as whistleblowers “and protected from reprisal.” Worth reminding: Vindman in his testimony says he’s not the whistleblower.

Could "reprisal" refer to the possibility that Trump will fire Vindman?

Didn't Trump say earlier that he wouldn't allow any administration officials to testify, which would mean that Vindman defied him.

7. Can't be fired because he's active Army

His detail to the WH/NSC could be ended, though. He might be reassigned to a job that doesn't help his career. It's also possible that Vindman's military supervisor could be pressured to write a bad FITREP that does not recommend him for promotion to O-6 (bird colonel). In the military, it's up or out, so if you are passed over for promotion when eligible more than once, you have to leave/retire.

The man risked his professional career coming forward to do the right thing. And we all know how vindictive Trump is when he's crossed. Not to mention his crazed fans.

One good sign is that the smears on the right--suggesting Vindman had 'divided allegiance'--met with immediate blowback. Even that Duffy creature recently hired by CNN has tried to walk back his original comments.
