Trump: I'm in deep trouble!

It was just announced that Q3 growth rates were 1.9%. To criticize Donald Trump over what it means to have a 1.9% quarterly growth rate, let me just turn it over to [checks notes]...Donald Trump from 2012.

@realDonaldTrump
Q1 GDP has just been revised down to 1.9% http://1.usa.gov/3hAL The economy is in deep trouble.

The United States economy has now slowed to a growth rate lower than when Trump took office.

Obama, despite inheriting a devastating recession, produced 16 quarters of faster growth than Trump’s economy just eked out.The Hoarse Whisperer added,

JUST IN: GDP data shows US economic growth at 1.9% in third quarter

Bring back manufacturing, coal mining. Jobs-jobs-jobs. Don’t sell your house. The factory will reopen/revive/come back.

Ain’t happenin’. He sold you a song ‘n’ dance, Red America. And you bought it. Opened your pocketbook and dumped it out at his feet. Opened your mouth and swallowed it all without even bothering to chew. And now he has the money, the power, and the privilege, and you’ve got squat. And he’s systematically breaking and destroying everything you depend upon.

Was it worth it, Red America?

Really?

Nobody bothered to stop and think about what happens AFTER you “blow it all up” and/or “burn it all down”.

What happens after that is - YOU still have to live in the ashes and the rubble that your fever dreams wanted so badly, and created. You didn’t just hurt those “damn libruls.” You hurt yourselves.

And you hurt YOURSELVES most of all.

It will never reach their level of consciousness. They're in a light trance ALL of the time. Trumpy knows how to activate and re-activate the trance at will. That's why he has the twitter threads and the rallies. It's all for activating a light trance for his die-hard toadies. It's otherwise called, "Holding on to his base." Hitler did the same thing but called it something else. Evangelicals do this all the time, and the money that they collect is proof that it works.

4%, 5%, maybe even 6% GDP growth.

The 1.5 trillion dollars he gave to corporations and the rich is wearing off.

Not much talk about Trump's 1 trillion dollar deficit, much of which came from lost revenue from his tax cuts.

Art Laffer's voodoo economics.

The Fed lowered rates twice to prop up his failing economic policies and will likely do it again.

It's not the Fed, it's the tariffs and trade wars that are the problem. A lot of folks also don't realize how the tax cuts are contributing to this problem by bringing in a lot less revenue and increasing the deficit to records highs for peacetime.

“recovering” or “former” Republicans. From what I’ve observed and studied, seems as though for most of them, it’s just trump they don’t like. But the general “greed is good/money is speech/corporations are people/boot up by yer own bootstraps/my religion trumps your rights/why should I pay to help you lazy moochers/I Got Mine, F-U” philosophy most of them still tend to embrace.

Economy Reaches Longest Expansion in U.S. History in Third Quarter of 2019, Beats Market Expectations
October 30, 2019 3 minute read

Council of Economic Advisers

The current economic expansion, which began roughly a decade ago, became the longest in U.S. history on July 1, 2019, beating the previous record that lasted from March 1991 through March 2001. As today’s advance Gross Domestic Product (GDP) release confirms, economic growth continued in the third quarter of 2019, beating market expectations and adding to the expansion’s record length. The release also confirms that the Trump Administration’s policies support sustained economic growth and lead to higher incomes for American families.

In its final projection before the 2016 election, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimated that real GDP would grow at a 2.1 percent annual rate in the first 11 quarters of a new Administration. Instead, under President Trump, real GDP as of the third quarter has grown at a strong 2.6 percent annual rate since the election. As of the third quarter, real GDP is $230 billion—or 1.2 percent—higher than CBO’s projection (Figure 1). Furthermore, under President Obama’s expansion period, real GDP grew at only a 2.2 percent annual rate compared to the Trump Administration’s 2.6 percent rate.
