This is bullshit trying to paint baseball as elitist. And It looks like a right wing talking point also.

Season ticketholders would get them at face value. People who go in with friends to buy a season ticket have access to them. Regular fans are able to buy tickets to these games with little trouble. It's a myth that only wealthy elites are attending them. (The Super Bowl is another story, but even that has plenty of regular fans attending as well)

And I still question using "Washington Insiders" to dismiss the booing at the game.

I bought tickets for the NLCS in STLouis for $40 2 days before the game from the mlb website. I am sure in DC they are higher and the WS is higher because its the WS. Attending championship sporting events is not cheap but you do not have to be elite. Obviously if you wait until the event is sold out and purchase from a scalper such as the site you reference then you are subject to exorbitant prices due to demand.

A city which has never won. Baseball games are extremely expensive. There are regular posts about the cost on this site during the season and how you can't afford to bring a family to a game. I guessed you missed those -- you and others who think it is just fine could have corrected them...

I have no idea who booed Trump. Maybe the same people who booed Obama when he threw out the first pitch at the All Star game in 2009. What I do agree is that baseball tickets are extremely expensive and regular working people can't afford to bring a family to a game. Go ahead and defend the price of the tickets.

But what I do see is an attempt by right wing shitbag Republicans to spin it to find a way to blame it on imaginary boogeymen that are behind everything that embarrasses Trump so they can feed it to the cornpones watching FOX News.

It is a tradition to boo politicians at sporting events. I have personally see it more than a few times when I have been in attendance. People on the side of the "booers" can draw any conclusions they want. Are they right? Maybe, maybe not.

Here is a link to tickets for tonight's game. The very cheapest are in the $400 - $500 range. Most people go to a game with someone else. There is parking and snacks. So that is easily $1000.

Unless you bought one as a season ticket holder or got lucky, you have to go to the secondary market and you pay thru the nose for it.

available and some season ticket holders cashed in on extra tickets by unloading them to scalpers or reselling them themselves. And of course there are professional speculators in all big time sports who buy up tickets on any team which might have a chance at a post-season and then cash in on the ones which turn out.

There a limited number seats ...

if demand exceeds supply - prices go up
If supply exceeds demand- prices go down

Works for everything in our economy from houses to cars to wages to Christmas toys.

If I paid face value for two tix and I can resell them for ten times the amount, I have a decision to make - fatten the wallet or go to the game.

I had seats in the "Club" Level, and those tickets listed for $454 (but for a season ticket holder, they were $314)

By the way, the "gate price" for Super Bowl tickets runs from around $1000 for nose bleed seats to $5000 for the most expensive ticket.

One thing we did was wait by the 1st Row seat at the 50-yard-line and ask how much they paid for the ticket.
Dude had dropped 10K on the seat the day before. He wasn't elite. Just some dumbass spending his kid's college fund without telling his wife.
(The seat behind him was Martha Stewart)
But there were a lot of season ticket holders who flew out from New England for the game - not just elites (Although there were a lot more of those that I saw).
