I did not know this. It's impractical to "lower" the flag that's mounted to our home, and I always felt a little guilty when I couldn't lower it. I'll have to order one of these.

(2,113 posts)our flag holder has a 'lower' position it. it is wall mounted on house. I have always used that position for half staff. I'll need ot research now and see if I am making a mistake. thanks for the info, then to the store to get a memorial streamer.

(42,862 posts)I'm still searching... trying to find out if this is LEGIT, or just an invented trend/fad (made up by flagmakers) so that they can profit by selling black streamers?

(2,113 posts)I am doing correctly on wall mounted holder,heck I even have it lit right! I stumbled upon and older blog that also addresses black streamer, so I assume it has been around a while. I lost link and will find and edit. found link,edited
