Who is whitewashing the transcripts? Eisenberg? At Barr's direction? This seems very significant

This also solves the mystery of the ellipses, which administration officials had claimed was simply Trump trailing off. According to Vindman, they represent gaps in the transcript.

Hope for his sake he follows John Dean's example. Here you go, Mr. Eisenberg, repeat this: "There is a cancer on the presidency."

Media that keep referring to it as a transcript are misinforming their readers/viewers.

They said it was a summary.
Now, all Repubs are required to squawk “Just read the transcript!” even though they know there is no damn transcript.

They knew it was damning and had to be cleansed. After they cleaned it up, Trump asked if it was okay to release and some one said to him, Yeah boss, it's perfect. so that's what Trump remembers, the call was perfect.

At least that's how I see it.

Sounds very plausible. Trump would remember "it's perfect" and use that as his primary descriptor of the phone call.

I still have no idea why the abbreviated released notes allowed the QpQ to be shown. Someone f'd up.

...but they were trying to get ahead of it the way Barr did with the Mueller report. They thought they'd take some heat but watered it down enough to weather it... not counting on a person testifying who actually listened to the call.
