The word lynching carries all that historical weight. It is not just about persecution. It is about humiliation and murder.
This all came up because President Trump himself said the impeachment process is a lynching. I honestly dont know if our president knows enough to understand what he meant. Im not sure exactly what he knows beyond his own need for power and attention.
But Lindsey Graham damn sure knows what lynching means.
You know, Lindsey Graham used to be somebody. Now he has become one of those birds that sit on the back of a rhino and pick bugs out of their skin.

(1,265 posts) After he backed Trump on the word lynching, he tied himself into knots trying to explain that he was talking about a political lynching, and how that was different.
But he is from Pickens County, South Carolina, and there is no way he didnt know exactly what he was saying, and how much it would hurt people who are not like him.
Thats definitely the result. What bothers me most was that it might have also been the point.
Indeed.

(11,769 posts)stepped up his game to graduate to brown nosed asslicker for the republican party. History books will paint him as the scourge on humanity he is, for tossing every moral fiber he may have once had into the trash, in order to gain favor with the party of trump. Fucking traitors, the whole damned-to-hell, republican party members who are still covering trump's ass and laundering russian money through their campaigns and lining their pockets with blood money.

(11,094 posts)when he chose to play around with the word lynching and then offered up what he thought was a clever reason for doing so. He cant sink much lower.

(854 posts)Never forget that Graham was one of the leaders of the pack in the House back in the day leading the charge during the Clinton impeachment. Now maybe Clinton should have been impeached, but that's not the point. Go find the videos of Graham and his sanctimonious statements about how noble the Republicans push for impeachment were and compare those statements to what he says today. What an a total tool and m-eff'in hypocrite. Whomever is his Dem opponent in the current SC senate race should be incorporating these vids in his ads and having then aired every chance he gets.

(703 posts)He could no longer ride the coattails of a great man. Hes the little nerdy kid who would have been eaten alive by the Republican bullies. So he attached himself to the biggest bully there is.
Basically, hes a nothing. Always has been.

Everything Trump touches dies. I wonder if this will merit a mention in Rick Wilson's new book.
