Breaking via NYT: Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman told House investigators that the White House transcript of a July call between President Trump and Ukraine's president omitted crucial words and phrases, and that his attempts to restore them failed.

White House Ukraine Expert Sought to Correct Transcript of Trump Call
Lt. Col. Alexander S. Vindman, who heard President Trump’s July phone call with Ukraine’s president and was alarmed, testified that he tried and failed to add key details to the rough transcript.

that's why a complete transcript of the call is needed. It's my understanding calls aren't recorded anymore (post Nixon), but why can't a court type transcriber be present to capture the complete call.

I know you know the difference. Please, please, please use accurate language, otherwise you're just confusing your audience. Unless, of course, that's your objective. If so, just tell us, mmmkay?

Which leads quite naturally to the question, "Where is the full transcript?" Trump has total control of the transcript of his "perfect" phone call (whatever in hell that means in Trump's broken brain), but he won't release it. If it so completely vindicates him, why doesn't he publish the full transcript?

It's just so strange how that question never gets raised, much less answered by the administration.

My guess is that his quest to get dirt on the Bidens goes further and deeper than we ever could imagine. As president, he has unlimited resources. Imagine a person like him with no self control having unlimited resources to pursue every crazy whim that crosses his mind.

It would not be correct to say that a copy of the actual call does not exist.

Think about it-

The call was to a foreign national.

It was NOT on a US military secure line.

Therefore, OUR intelligence services record and have access to every-single-word in that great Utah listening post.

You can bet that a recording DOES exist.

Whether the secret government will disclose it is a different question. But since the early 2000’s, EVERY phone call made outside the US is accessible to the FIVE EYES nations.

While the White House May not have a copy, Congress should ask the intel agencies for a copy.
