Yes, GOP, It's Time to Fear the Reaper

For the past two-plus years, you have abandoned your principles, lied to your constituents, even committed perjury in order to protect a lying bastard whose only interest is his own ability to line his pockets and do the bidding of our enemies while pretending to serve the interests of the country.

You are past the point of no return, that juncture where it’s too late to undo the damage you have caused to your own party – that place where those who followed your lead will turn on you like cockroaches if you even suggest that the idiot you installed in the White House is anything less than the god-like creature you have convinced ‘the base’ he is.

But the fact is that you talked them into voting for Trump. You convinced them that he was an honest broker. You had your so-called Christian pastors declare that he was ‘chosen by God’. You covered-up his lies, made excuses for his deplorable behaviour, and encouraged his rabid supporters to ignore the destruction he has done to our democracy.

You prompted them to cheer a “pResident” who insulted our allies, who praised our enemies, who sided with Putin over our own intelligence agencies. You told them that his thousands of lies don’t matter, that his infantile outbursts are to be ignored, and that his obvious stupidity is of no consequence.

You led them to accept migrant children being locked-up like criminals. You encouraged them to accept white supremacists and Nazis marching in America’s streets. You told them that their “pResident’s” appointment of inept, self-serving ass-kissers to positions of power was in the nation’s best interest. You convinced them that a self-declared pussy-grabber was beyond reproach, and that his emotional meltdowns are the signs of a ‘stable genius’.

You turned your fellow citizens against immigrants, the very backbone of our country. You stood by in silence as your “pResident” incited violence against anyone who defies him. You sat on the sidelines as your “pResident” shat on war heroes like John McCain, and publicly denigrated dedicated military personnel and devoted public servants. And you continue to align yourselves with a “pResident” who uses his position to line his own pockets, and advance the interests of despots who have murdered their own people, as well as our own citizens.

And now you are all shitting yourselves as you realize you will have to choose between defending your “pResident’s” obvious corruption and your oath to defend the Constitution and the rule of law – and the whole world is watching as you make that choice.

If you turn against your “pResident”, his supporters will turn against you in November 2020. If you continue to stand with him, the voters who represent the majority of the nation will turn against you. And THAT is the unenviable place you find yourselves in, that place between a rock and a very hard place.

The irony here is that those you convinced of Trump’s alleged suitability for office are the most easily manipulated people in the country. That ‘base’ you now fear could have been easily convinced that you were on their side, and that you were capable of reining-in a madman who was intent on destroying the principles they once (allegedly) held so dear.

You could have put a stop to the madness years ago, by simply telling your “pResident” that you wouldn’t support his lies, his erratic behaviour, his corruption, and his unending attempts to devote himself to his own interests, which have been proven to be diametrically opposed to the well-being of our citizenry and our national security.

Instead, you continue to stand with The Dotard – apparently ignorant of the fact that the ‘base’ you now fear represents a minority of voters who don’t have the numbers to re-elect him – or you.

So don’t ask for whom the bell tolls – it tolls for thee. It tolls for a party that has sacrificed whatever scruples it once had in order to ass-kiss a bunch of dumb-ass voters, many of whom probably lack the intellectual capacity to find their nearest polling station next November.

Yes, Republicans, it’s time to Fear the Reaper, the one who you created, the one whose deadly scythe will gleefully cut you down in 2020 – and beyond.

You created this monster and, one way or another, you are about to reap the unbridled wrath the Reaper holds in his possession. You can continue to try to defend the indefensible, but that is exactly what will prove to be your ultimate undoing.

The Grim Reaper is about to strike, and you are all dead men walking – incredible idiots too stupid to have foreseen that the truth would inevitably be exposed for all the world to see, along with how willing you all were to aid and abet a traitor.

All in the name of Jesus who they claim to know a lot about, but really they know absolutely nothing.

For the record I will never claim that I know a lot about the Bible or world religions but I know that Jesus wouldn't want any of this and would probably smite the whole lot of them.

and his generally sinful God-less life.

It shows how fake those pastors are. They probably won't understand even if a nativity scene had baby Jesus in a cage while Mary and Joseph get flown across the country to different ICE detention cages this Christmas.

The demise of the Republican Party has been predicted for decades. Without major reform of our tyranny of the minority political system (virtually impossible for the very reasons why reform is so desperately needed), without public education reform, without media reform and without putting an end to what is essentially election fraud (voter suppression, foreign interference, dark money, gerrymandering), the GOP will live on. 2020 may go really well for us, but between all of the aforementioned issues and an incredibly ignorant public with the attention span of a gnat, the Republican Party isn't anywhere close to being laid to rest.
