Hurricane Pablo weakens to a tropical storm after making history in north Atlantic

Pablo has weakened to a tropical storm Sunday night after a history-making day.

The small storm passed the Azores Islands in the northeast Atlantic last night and unexpectedly strengthened earlier Sunday, becoming the Atlantic’s sixth hurricane of 2019.

Pablo made a bit of hurricane history in the process, according to Colorado State University hurricane expert Dr. Philip Klotzbach:
