This woman is a nurse with a gentle personality, but she's a full blown trumper. She truly believes that she's in danger from Democrats.
Meanwhile, trump and his surrogates are the ones threatening extreme violence and retaliation on Democrats if we try to remove him.
I figured, if anything, trump's rhetoric would increase gun ownership on our side, but now I see that his language is actually a double dog whistle for his own supporters.
It'll be interesting (and a bit frightening) to observe this specific trumper's continued radicalization. She bought the gun. Now what?

a comment to about tRUMP going down (politically) a few weeks ago. Maybe I shoulda kept my mouth shut since he told me he thought tRUMP was doing a good job and that Democrats wanted to take everybody's guns away. I told him I liked guns and that I only thought we should keep guns out of the
hands of certain people.
I hope the nurse described in the op will take a good gun-safety course and learn to be a responsible gun owner. There are a lot of those around.
tRUMPers are gonna drink the kool-aid and accept (without evidence) the fear of Democrats doing just what all the Reich Wing groups have been and are already doing. There could be trouble or maybe not.
It's good to be prepared for every contingency.

(82,849 posts)Ask her to be specific about her fears and the danger she thinks she's in. Democrats will take her guns? She will get "lock her upped" for being a Trump fan? Liberal mobs will run rampant in the streets? Then the date by which these things will happen. January 21, 2021? February 1? June 1? December 31? Have her sign it and make her a copy. Put $100 on each prognostication, and go around to collect as each deadline passes. Maybe if their ignorance costs them*, it will put them on the road to recovery.
*I used to play in a monthly poker game. Nickel ante stuff, and you usually ended the night within five bucks of even, for which you had a lot of fun with the guys. One guy brought his son along a couple of times. More than once, Sonny was about to fold a winning hand when Dad interrupted and gently suggested he look again. We took Dad aside and asked him not to do that anymore; Sonny would learn better to pay attention if he lost a pot or two. Dad didn't bring Sonny to the game after that.
