Fux Noise contributor: 'Most likely' outcome is Trump doesn't run in 2020

NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Fox News contributor Christopher Hahn predicts that President Trump will not run for reelection in 2020.

Hahn, a lawyer who is one of the network's most frequent liberal guests, told the Washington Examiner on Saturday that he believes the "most likely" outcome is that the Senate will advise Trump not to run for reelection based on accusations of quid pro quo. Hahn suggested that in Trump's absence, the 2020 Republican ticket will be led by either Vice President Mike Pence or former Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley.

He predicted the current impeachment will lead to the president's downfall and specifically said that by March 15, the country will know whether Trump plans on seeking a second term. Hahn added that the testimony of former national security adviser John Bolton, which is still not a certainty, would be the final nail in the coffin for this administration.

"I wouldn’t want [Bolton] to hold a grudge against me," Hahn said, noting Bolton's contentious exit from the White House. "He’s annoyed the president didn't take his foreign policy advice.” Hahn then added that Trump's former adviser could be "a hand grenade" to the president, a play on the fact that Bolton called Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, who is at the center of the impeachment inquiry, "a hand grenade who’s going to blow everybody up."

We should be so lucky. I imagine there are a few who hold a grudge against Trump.

No way, none he willingly walks away.

On the 1 in 1,000,000,000 chance enough R senators vote to convict him, this is almost certain.

No more than a few GOP Senators will even consider voting to convict Trump …..He will never be convicted by the Senate . … Democrats in the House still have a deep moral obligation to Impeach this criminal...…….History will vindicate them

If the numbers on impeachment keep going up, and his numbers against hypothetical primary candidates keep going down....The GOP is going to realize that he is a drag on them rather than a help. At that point it only takes 20 senators to threaten removal. McConnell then goes to him and tell him that he can either resign or be removed.

He picks resign, citing that the "vitriol from the left and the phony witch hunt have made it impossible for him to govern and he have chosen to step aside for the good of the country."

It's the anti-Nixon resignation. Instead of capitulating, he resigns while trying to paint himself as sympathetic and cast blame on Democrats.

Mike Pence assumes office and his first act is to preemptively pardon Trump to "ensure the end of the lefts harassment of him."

In this scenario, Trump never admits to wrongdoing and is never charged with anything. The GOP is never forced to vote, and nearly all of them feign support for him after resignation and try to use it as a weapon against democrats in purple districts.

This leads to a loss by Republicans in 2020, given that the base is fractured between Trump and party loyalists. The Party folks fall right into line, but many Trump Loyalists rebel against the GOP, blaming them for selling him out.

This is all just supposition. However, we have to know that despite what they say, there are 20+ Republicans in the Senate who would like to see Trump not be president anymore. They also don't want to be on the hook specifically for ousting him. This is a way for them to be rid of him without having to go on record.

the Dems need to use all things Trump as a means to strangle the GOP.
Every GOP candidate in every race needs to be tied to Trump.
Treat every GOP House and Senate candidate the way the GOP treats Democrats.
I know that this would make us "no better than them", but we are not living in normal times.
If they "throw a punch", knock 'em to the ground. When they fall, "apply the boots".
